At ITC we know that our Company depends on its people and the community within which we exist, and we have continuously strived to contribute and support our community from inception in 1992 up to the present day.
From raising money through mufti days and sponsored events, to sponsorship of young sportspeople and several placements for local students seeking work experience each year, we seek to ‘give something back’ in a variety of ways.
We also endeavour to support our staff in their personal causes, whether through sponsorship of charity events, giving them time to undertake personal volunteer work or assisting with registration fees for their own charity challenges.
ITC gives time too. Our staff have wrapped presents in shopping centres for the Royal Marsden, chopped trees for the BTCV, and gardened for the CHASE hospice in Guildford.
Each year we focus our Company and staff efforts on a charity chosen through nominations by our staff as a cause personal to them. In recent years these have included the Lisa Thaxter Trust, several specialist schools, African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, Guide Dogs UK, sponsoring the training of 3 guide dog puppies; Archie, Jasper and Hartley, and most recently Shooting Star CHASE hospice care for children and teenagers, for which we raised over £11,000.
In early 2014, a new staff nominated charity was selected; the Sutton & Croydon Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, located just a few miles from ITC. Throughout the year, as well as raising funds, using our construction expertise and energy, we were pleased to be able to assist with repairs to their centre, with external redecorations and fire door repairs carried out to ensure their building was warm and watertight for the winter weather. There is still plenty more to do, so we will continue to support this fantastic therapy and support facility in 2015 too. www.surrey-ms.org
